Today’s Bible reading:
Romans 4:7-9
For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Hungary / Europe

This week there was a short message from an asylum seeker who had moved from Syria and now is living in Europe. It was sent to Thru The Bible. He said that he had found help in Hungary, and through listening to the gospel message of thru the bible had also found “peace for my soul”. This peace (from Christ) he had not expected!

Heavenly Father,  We thank You for the encouragement that comes from hearing this man’s short testimony. We pray that this story of finding the Peace of Jesus Christ will be repeated many thousands of times across Europe as refugees come to Europe for shelter.
We pray that they will become both hearers and doers of the Word, – becoming disciples of Christ and telling others of their new found peace and salvation. Father, we pray that You will build Your church, increasing their faith, making them a strong spiritual presence in the Name of Jesus Christ, through whom we pray and praise Your holy Name, Amen.

U.K.

We have just heard from our friend that his 3 year old grand-daughter has had a trampoline accident and broken her leg. We are asked to pray that it heals well and that her leg grows normally. We’ll take this opportunity to pray again for safety in the summer holidays.

Heavenly Father, we pray for this little girl, as she has had her leg bones set into position and plastered for the next 5 weeks. Lord, we ask that You promote rapid and perfect healing, so that as she grows up, her leg will be perfectly normal. We pray that the time will go quickly for her as to be immobilised at such a young age can be a challenge.

Lord, we also take this opportunity to pray again for all teaching staff and pupils, that they enjoy a safe  summer holiday, refreshed by their break and ready to start a new term in September. Through Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

Nigeria

In Nigeria, persecution of Christians has been severe at the hands of “Boko Haram” an Islamist terror group. Lately, the government have liberated parts of Adamawa state and Christians have been able to return home to rebuild their lives. They are returning to  homes but many churches have been burnt out and bibles destroyed.

Heavenly Father, we have previously prayed for Nigeria and that the government will defeat the terror threat from Boko Haram. We give You our praise that progress is being made and that those that were displaced, have been able to return to where they belong.
Lord, we pray that there will be replacements found for their bibles, and resources to rebuild the churches in honour of Your Name.
We pray for those that are persecuted, living in risk of losing their lives for their faith, and ask, Lord, that You build them up and encourage them to speak the Name of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Lord, grant them peace and safety, may they grow in knowledge and faith in Your Word. Amen.
